TruTurn® Brake Drums

TruTurn brake drums are machined inside and out over 95% of their surface area. This results in more uniform heat distribution, reduced vibration, and better performance.

TruTurn brake drums outperform the competition both in lab tests and on the highway. Because of our unique machining process, they maintain their shape better than traditional cast brake drums.

TruTurn brake drums are constructed using ConMet’s “turned-to-balance” machining process, which improves drum strength by eliminating the need for weld-on weights or balance cuts.

ConMet rotors are precision-machined to deliver top performance and prevent issues like brake vibration and ABS signal interference. Each rotor is fully validated with the latest OEM N-level frictions and undergoes extensive testing, including FMVSS 121 performance testing, crack testing, corrosion testing, and more.

For more than 25 years, ConMet has applied deep engineering knowledge to the design and development of brake rotors for commercial vehicles. Our team combines proven experience with modern tools and testing to create components that meet the evolving demands of OEMs. With decades of first-fit success and continuous investment in design validation, we’ve built a legacy of trusted performance.

ConMet rotors are qualified and used with all major OEM brake manufacturers’ calipers and frictions. We offer a variety of rotor types depending on OEM fit and application, including:

U-shaped: Designed for high torque capacity, the U-shaped rotor is the industry standard for heavy- and severe-duty applications.

Hat: Compact and efficient, hat-shaped rotors are ideal for medium-duty vehicles.

Flat: ConMet’s exclusive flat rotor offers an affordable, lightweight solution for heavy-duty applications.
