Consolidated Metco Relocates Headquarters to Vancouver, Washington

Vancouver, WA – Consolidated Metco Inc. (ConMet), the leader in lightweight component technology for the heavy-duty transportation industry, has relocated its corporate headquarters from Portland, OR to Vancouver, WA effective January 5, 2009.

ConMet will occupy two floors of office space in the Tidewater Cove building located on the banks of the Columbia River. The office will house the company’s executive leadership group as well as human resources, marketing, sales, accounting, information technology, engineering, procurement and warranty departments.

In addition to the move of the headquarters, ConMet’s test center will also relocate from Portland to Vancouver later in 2009. It will be located the Columbia Business Center within a mile of the new corporate office. This 30,000 square foot facility will house all testing equipment, offices for test engineers and storage space.

Before these moves, ConMet’s headquarters and first aluminum foundry were located in the Rivergate district of Portland since the company first began operations in 1964. ConMet supplied aluminum castings to local truck manufactures. Its first products included various brackets, radiators and fuel/water separators for commercial vehicles. Since then, the company has expanded its product offering to include hub assemblies in both aluminum and iron, brake drums and hub/rotor assemblies. ConMet also produces structural plastics, including instrument panels, cabinets, bunks and fairings.

With foundries in Clackamas, OR; Monroe, NC and Monterey, Mexico, ConMet supplies truck OEM’s throughout North America with both heavy duty and medium duty wheel end components. A factory in Etowah, TN produces cast iron brake drums. Two plastics factories in North Carolina and one in Monterey Mexico supply plastic components for truck interiors.
