ConMet Releases Video on the Benefits of Replacing Your Wheel End
November 30, 2016, Vancouver, WA – When it comes to wheel end performance, ConMet is dedicated to providing the best value for cost per mile and the safest product choices for customers in the commercial vehicle industry. As part of this commitment, ConMet recently released a video depicting the benefits of replacing wheel ends with PreSet Aftermarket hub assemblies as opposed to rebuilding them (www.conmet.com/replace).
“We are focused on educating the commercial vehicle industry about the simplicity of replacing complete wheel ends versus the level of complexity and the amount of time that goes into rebuilding,” explains Larry Sanford, ConMet’s Vice President of Aftermarket. “If the OEMs aren’t assembling wheel ends – why would anyone do that in the aftermarket?”
The video walks through the details of hub replacement compared to rebuilding, including how a technician can rebuild a hub in about three hours while that same technician can replace a hub in as little as one hour. Replacement not only saves time, but also eliminates the risk of installation related errors when replacing wheel end components such as bearing cups and cones, the wheel seal, and when manually adjusting the bearings.
Ultimately, the video illustrates that opting for an already assembled PreSet hub reduces the likelihood of costly mistakes and provides easy installation.
