Since 1964 ConMet has been transforming the commercial vehicle industry from the wheels up

We started at the wheel end, making one of the most critical parts on the truck and trailer lighter, higher quality, and more efficient. Our team of experts crafted the industry’s lightest components through design, testing, and engineering— creating advanced solutions to increase uptime, safety, and efficiency.

Our commercial vehicle expertise enabled us to expand and innovate across the truck and trailer by offering bespoke plastic and casting component solutions. Today, we support our customers by taking their vision into full-scale manufacturing with the highest precision, quality, and structural integrity.

From being the leading global manufacturer of wheel hubs, structural plastics, and aluminum structural castings for the commercial vehicle industry, to advancing in electrification and fleet intelligence, ConMet’s history is marked with significant milestones in innovation.

1964

Consolidated Metco Inc. begins as part of Portland Freightliner, a subsidiary of Consolidated Freightways.

1974

ConMet purchased Future Products which became Clackams Facility

1980

ConMet enters the plastics manufacturing with the addition of the Cashier’s Plant.

1987

ConMet goes private, becoming an independent company.

1989

Varlen Corp acquires ConMet.

1995

ConMet introduces the innovative PreSet® hub.

1999

Amsted Industries acquires Varlen Corp., and with it ConMet.

2000

ConMet establishes its first metals facility in Monterrey, Mexico.

2008

ConMet opens its first iron foundry in China.

2011

ConMet enters the Chinese market with the opening of it’s Nanjing PreSet assembly plant.

2011

ConMet Introduces the PreSet Plus® hub in North America.

2016

ConMet opens a distribution warehouse in Charlotte, NC to support the aftermarket.

2018

ConMet opens second facility in Monroe, NC.

2019

ConMet launches the PreSet Plus SmartHub™ entering the IoT solutions space.

2020

ConMet launches the PreSet Plus eHub™, establishing ConMet eMobility.

2023

2023 ConMet acquires eMobility assets from Saietta Group’s Netherlands branch.
